Its not like this is a multi-season murder mystery with clues that need to be tracked.
Itshowthe secrets of Judy Hale and Jen Harding spill out that matters, more than the actual secrets themselves.
For a show that thrives on what its characters withhold, thats what makes this show entertaining.
Can they navigate their final challenges as a team?
Judy is smoking weed and theyre coming up with fake names while they talk about Bens Ben-is.
Could this be a vision of the future?
Could they really get away with everything?
If that part of the dream is prophetic, could the happy stuff be too?
It has enough open-to-interpretation lines about paying the price that Charlie doesnt completely put it together.
And then Ben shows up on his doorstep, drunk and bleed-y.
Will that be a dynamic this season, Charlie putting all the pieces together?
He wants to take Ben to the hospital, but promises to keep the secret for now.
Cut to Nick (Brandon Scott) and Detective Perez over Steves body.
After all, the area is a dumping ground for organized crime.
Although most professional killers dont carve a heart in a tree nearby.
As Perez keeps trying to dissuade Nick from his investigation, she calls Jen to fill her in.
Shes now really part of the cover-up.
Is this nervous, uncertain Perez going to be a major player this season?
It doesnt help that there was a witness who saw Perez at the scene with a blonde lady.
Her unconvincing response: I dont know any blonde ladies.
Its going to be a rough season for Ben.
But the doctor thought he was talking to Judy!
Jen got back in the wrong bed!
When she returns, Jen doesnt tell Judy immediately; theres been enough bad news for today.
Thats a good sign.
At least I hope it is.
The TV icon passed away in August 2021.
She totally gets Judys desire to still be sweet and kind even as shes demanding what she needs.
Lets ride out this final stretch with the people we already know and love.
At least not yet.
