And which one is the best?

Here, all the James Bond films, ranked.

And this his final outing was the low-point of his reign.

Really, very few people involved with this thing look like they wanted to be there.

Seriously,Moonrakerlooks likeTerminator 2: Judgment Daynext to this thing.

Its supposed to be breathless and fast-paced, but it winds up being dull and headache-inducing.

A massive letdown after Craigs remarkable debut inCasino Royale.

But honestly, Richardss howler of a performance isnt even the main problem here.

22.Live and Let Die(1973)

Not a great start to Roger Moores turn as Bond.

Thats as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs.)

(Speaking of drugs: Try and watchhis ridiculous death scenehigh some time.)

If nothing else,shedeserved better.

And the anemic script doesnt really give Bond all that much to do, quite frankly.

Much of the rest of the picture, however, would suggest not.

Still, when it isnt suffering from 21st-century origin-story-itis,Spectrecan be reasonably entertaining.

(Along withThunderball, this might be one of the best-looking pre-Craig Bonds.)

Shes also, like, never not half-naked.

But arguably the attempt didnt go far enough.

Still, the film has plenty of charm.

Among many forgotten Bond efforts, this one rewards rewatching.

And yes, this is also the one in which he goes undercover as a Japanese fisherman.

In ways both good and bad, its a heck of a time capsule.

Still, this is perhaps the closest the Bond series came to making an outright cult film.

No(1962)

Theres a reason why the first James Bond movie led to more James Bond movies.

Sean Connerys particular brand of strapping sociopathic charisma made Bond an aspirational ideal right from the get-go.

Since this was the first one, the full Bond template hadnt been established yet.

Thats not necessarily a bad thing: The film often feels like a proper mystery.

10.GoldenEye(1995)

The Pierce Brosnan era began with such incredible promise.

(Dont worry: He makes it to sunny Cuba by the end.)

As the beautiful programmer Natalya Simonova, however, Polish actress Izabella Scorupco is largely wasted.

We can see glimpses of her talent, but mostly she just runs.

8.Goldfinger(1964)

For many years,Goldfingerwas a consensus choice for best Bond film.

There is good reason for this.Goldfingerhas some of the series most iconic lines (No, Mr.

Bond, I expect you to die!

(That said, the scene where Bond forces himself on her has aged horribly.)

All those elements helped Goldfinger establish a Bond movie template that subsequent entries would be judged against.

And for all its occasional datedness, it remains a classic.

For her part, Dench effectively conveys Ms hardheadedness while allowing for moments of genuine vulnerability.

Weirdly, its Daniel Craig who doesnt seem to have all that much to do this time around.

6.From Russia With Love(1963)

The second Bond film, not unlikeDr.

Of course, its all a ruse.

In fact, its a double ruse: Shes lying to him, but SPECTRE is lying to her.

4.Thunderball(1965)

Director Terence Young, returning to the Bond franchise after steeringDr.

NoandFrom Russia With Loveto great success, truly outdid himself here.

The effects are particularly nifty, and the underwater photography, includingthe climactic parachute-submersible-harpoon melee, is tremendous.

But in truth, one sees traces ofThunderballall over the entire Bond series.

(Look no further than the climax of Christopher NolansInceptionfor evidence of this.)

2.For Your Eyes Only(1981)

No, you read that right.

Even the opening helicopter sequence, in which Bond seemingly does away with Blofeld, still works.

1.Casino Royale(2006)

They said it couldnt be done.

(So moving, in fact, that he would spend the next four films mourning her.)
