My favoritereviewofFargois by an Amazon customer who goes by Duke Wellington.

William H. Macy in 1996’s <!-- raw HTML omitted -->Fargo<!-- raw HTML omitted -->

Duke didnt like the film.

Hated it, actually.

Thought it was a pathetic satire on a very serious story.

Another example of Hollywoods prejudices against the good people of Americas flyover states.

He gave it one star out of five so suffice to say, Duke wasnt happy with his purchase.

If youve seenFargo, you know where audiences mightve been led astray: the first frame.

This is a true story, were told with the unimpeachable authority of white text over a black backdrop.

The events depicted in this film took place in Minnesota in 1987.

At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed.

Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.

Why else specify that they were telling the story exactly as it occurred?

And yet if weve learned anything in the 25 years 25 years!!

sinceFargowas released, its that life is often much stranger than fiction.

We gotta play ball with these guys, Jerry tells his son at one point.

You ask Stan Grossman, hell tell ya the same thing.

And that for all of their nihilism and irreverence, the Coens actually love humanity, idiots and all.

Just, ya know, dont take it literally or risk outing yourself as one of the fools.

Thankfully, Twitters a written medium, so I wont torture you with myoutstandingMinnesota accent, yah.

But beyond that, as has been said by Wade Gustafson, Its my show here.
