I love comedy so much I want comedy to be as respected as everything else.

A lot of times, people use comedy as a stepping stone.

But Im like,Why use it as a stepping stone?

There are certain times where if youre doing a show, you want to keep a certain flow.

You dont want to lose the momentum of the people laughing and having fun.

The last thing you want to do is stop it and have to start over.

This will never happen again.

And of course, thats when that roach story happened.

I actually went and slept on the bus for the remainder of the tour.

Oh, really?Yes.

I didnt tell that onstage!

But yeah, I wound up staying on the bus because I was terrified.

And I had recorded it too.

And I was just like,Oh, that is too funny.

If its funny, if it clicks, then it stays.

You will throw in Spanish words here and there in general.

Its very much how Im feeling.

Its home, so I feel like you talk the way that you talk at home.

Its that wholeI Love Lucy, Ricky Ricardo getting upset, Aye, Lucy!

you might tell youre laughing more so at the way that it sounds versus what it means.

In the joke, you do an impression of your tour manager.

Would you say its accurate?

Then, is there a sound that you might do to make this more animated?

Shes five-foot-two, shes a small person.

She speaks clearly, but shes a little ghetto.

Its a strong person, its an independent person.

And Im like, Uh, I dont have anything in writing.

and she said, Look, Im sorry, the kids all over the place.

Id always get to the finish line, but my paths were always different.

I dont know how the hell you do that.

And in my last special, before the Dodger Stadium one, I started working with a couple guys.

They would help me structure it.

You have this pause before youre about to say what happens.

Youre reflecting on the fact that you were freaked out.

And theyre like, Oh my God!

Im not thinking about it as Im doing it.

This is probably the most Ive thought about it, because were having a conversation about pauses and stuff.

None of that is part of that collaboration process of structuring.

That was it, and that was a huge laugh, and that was perfect.
