Deborah seconds this, underscoring Avas hypocrisy: Thats true; this girls honest to a fault.
Shes always trying to get me to be more honest.
Jimmys enamored with his charming, overachieving assistant Silas but agrees for the clients he loves.
Alas, poor Jimmys sacrifice is for naught.
Ava gulps, Helen Mirren.
The pause flirts with the idea that Deborahs wrath might not come at all.
Could Deborah be flattered enough by this casting choice to forgive Ava?
Perhaps all press is good press, right?
OF COURSE ITS GOING TO SERIES, Deborah shrieks and pelts Ava with crystals.
Its a funnyandupsetting scene.
After the slap that split them last season, Deborah promised Ava shed never hit someone again.
This breaks that promise and, surely, any trust Ava had in her.
Its not exactly unrealistic that Deborah would react this way.
At first, its funny.
But then it turns nasty.
Deborah walks out, leaving Ava with the check.
The email is excruciating, but mostly for Ava.
Everything Ava said is true.
Deborah is a cruel boss and a messed up person, but everyone is messed up!
And since shes met Ava, Deborah has been dealing with her shit in good faith.
Ava knows its true.
Its why their relationship and their fighting are so compelling.
If they left each other, that spark would go out.
This isreallywhy Deborah doesnt fire Ava: She needs her to be great.
Still, its a big growth moment.
But Avas not off the hook.
The next morning, Deborah picks her up and says shes decided to forgive her.
Havent you ever been in litigation before?
Its a good learning experience expensive, too.
