As of April 1, 2024,The Little Thingsis streaming on Netflix.
So, why the heck doesnt itwork?
Deacon doesnt share Baxters earnestness, not any more, but he does share his clarity of purpose.
(Things probably changed a lot since you left.
Still gotta catch em, right?
Not that much has changed, then.)
On paper, it sounds great.
But it half-asses that, alas.
(Baxter doesnt, but the film isnt from Baxters point of view its mostly from Deacons.)
This screenwriters ploy winds up damaging the performances.
But then Jared Leto shows up, and things get interesting again.
Leto brings just the right mixture of creepy disdain to his part.
The Little Things, however,isdistinctive in certain ways.
It wants to eat its genre cake and have it too.
