Its like white noise, only more menacing dark noise?
which somehow makes it more effective.
But these stories, which are usually longer and more involved, arent what best suit my purposes.

Its the run-of-the-mill offerings, which cluster into repeated subgenres and have their ownroster of cliches.
That charm is amped up considerably by a narrator giving the stories a solemn, serious read.
Regardless of what the individual stories might be like, the enterprise has a grounding in camp.
And maybe thats really key to making them so disarming for me.
It turned out that plunging myself into material that was activelytryingto trigger dread was what I needed to relax.
With them, at least, I havent had a nightmare once.
