Drag Raceis no stranger to a twist.

This time, each queen picks a charity to support that has a chance at a $30,000 payday.

After all, how else would we have experienced Tatiannas iconic spoken word piece or Derrick Barrys ingenious impressions?

Indeed, the Variety Extravaganza muststay.

As soon as the clip with this announcement went live, Twitter became incensed.

They cried, borrowing the old Alyssa Edwards adage.

Most notably, our only competitor with one star, Shea Coulee, is back in the race.

On its face, Im not as outraged at this twist as my internet cohort.

It ensures that this episode has some stakes for just about everyone.

Take a week off, babe!

So, with rekindled fires under almost everyones asses, the queens get to work.

And when I say work, I meanwork.

For what proceeds is undoubtedly the most high-budget variety show inDrag Raceherstory.

Production value aside, the content is that of a rather typicalDrag RaceVariety Show, which is pretty great!

No ones performance bores, and the standouts are truly remarkable.

All five queens are great performers and have created songs that play to their individual strengths.

But the gimmick of Sheas?

With a masterful performance channeling the swagger and dance skills of Michael and Janet, Shea stuns this week.

While the original songs have a harder time standing out, theyre also a safe choice.

But when you take a big swing like these three, you risk an equally big whiff.

But the star of this group has to be Monet.

And once again, the differentiating factor is pure talent.

Monet infamously sang once before onDrag Race, on the talent show ofAll Stars4.

But now shes back, and shes flipped the script.

Or, rather, the vocal register.

Its a pitch-perfect redemption arc from herAll Stars 4stumble and a definitive victory in this variety show.

But as far asDrag Racerobberies go, I think Jaidas wont go down in history.

And by the look on her face, shes pretty pissed about it, too.

Shea wins by a hair, and all thats left is for RuPaul to announce one final twist.

And just like that … were at the finale, folks!
