Where the Industry Stands Now
Spotify still thinks so, as one would expect.
will always be essential to Spotifys fortunes, no matter how other things shake out in the future.
Such is hit-vetting in the age oftech media platforms and their black boxes.
But What About the Shows?
So thats the businessy stuff.
Lets briefly talk about the creative side of things.
(Then again, Im barely able to keep up with television, the news, emails.
Maybe Im just getting older.)
But its the third thing thats become something of a genuine broader conundrum.
This isnt to say that there hasnt been good stuff.
(We do keep a running list of theBest Podcasts of the Year So Far, after all.)
(The response in the U.K. has also been muted,but for more suspect reasons.)
Heres a show, still relatively new, that has so thoroughly infected my personal networks.
But the larger point that new bona fideSmartLessesare few and far between seems to be holding.
Im going to mull over this a little more.
