So think of this as a preemptive eulogy to all the side characters: we hardly knew ye.

As she grew more popular, her character evolved.
Harley is one of just a handful of characters from the 2016Suicide Squadwho reappear in the new movie.
Margot Robbie reprises the role for the third time, having starred in last yearsBirds of Preymovie as well.

The continuity of recent DC movies is fluid, to say the least.
Refreshingly, Harley has left the Joker in the rearview mirror this time around.
Amanda Waller (Viola Davis)
Harley Quinn isnt the only returning member of the Squad.

This is a woman who will stare down anybody hero, villain, shark without flinching.
Thats where Rick Flag, another returning face from the 2016 movie, comes in.
Flag is once more played byFor All Mankinds Joel Kinnaman.

The villain is a classic foe to The Flash, having first appeared back in 1960.
While less famous than Deadshot, Bloodsport does have a sizable history in the comics.
The film version of Bloodsport seems much more level-headed than this comics counterpart but hes no less dangerous.

As the trailer reveals, he put Superman in the ICU with a Kryptonite bullet.
This version of the character has a daughter named Tyla, played by Storm Reid.
How does the suit work?

Dont worry about it.
Peacemaker (John Cena)
Peacemaker is an incredible contradiction of a character.
King Shark (Slyvester Stallone)
King Shark is more than just a king shark.

In early comics, his divine heritage was subject to some dispute, but later arcs made it official.
What are King Sharks superpowers, you might ask?
He can do anything a shark can do, except he can also walk and talk.

He is the teams dumb muscle inThe Suicide Squad, voiced by Sylvester Stallone.
Steve Agee provided the on-set motion capture for King Shark.
This version implanted parts of the original Thinkers cap directly into his brain.

The movie version of The Thinker is neither of these two characters.
(Taika Waititi plays the original Ratcatcher inThe Suicide Squadin a flashback.).
Will you find the film version of the first Ratcatcher as upsetting as the comic version?

Savant (Michael Rooker)
Of courselongtime James Gunn collaborator Michael Rooker is inThe Suicide Squad.
Rooker plays Savant, a character who first appeared in a 2003 issue ofBirds of Prey.
Savant is basically the worst-case scenario for what Bruce Wayne could have been.

(Nathan Fillion)
There is no comic book character named T.D.K.
Due to several reboots of DC Comics continuity, Arm-Fall-Off-Boy is no longer canon, butThe Suicide Squadand T.D.K.
have the potential to make him iconic.
Blackguard (Pete Davidson)
TheSNLstar plays a fairly minor DC super-villain.
Its neat, but dont expect Calendar Man to be a major focus in the movie.
Comic books are so stupid sometimes.
Mongal (Mayling Ng)
The DC supervillain Darkseid first appeared in the 1970s.
Its widely accepted that Marvel knocked aspects of Darkseid off when they introduced Thanos three years later.
Anyway,The Suicide Squadfeatures Monguls daughter Mongal, who first appeared in a 1995 comic.
The film version is not so cute.
